Return to Self: Yoga and Recovery on the Farm with Taryn Strong & Dawn Nickel

August 12, 2015 - August 16, 2015

Could you use a time out to reconnect, re-fill, and rekindle your own sense of inner peace? Or are you searching to step into a fuller, more connected, brighter version of yourself? Are you a strong and courageous woman in recovery (we are all recovering from something) looking to deepen your connection with nature? Are you looking to relieve stress, access your heart, refine your listening and care deeply for yourself?

Join 20 like-hearted women for a long weekend of relaxation, female energy and joyful connection. Healthy gourmet meals and two Hatha yoga classes per day will benefit both body and soul.

As with all of our retreats we will create a sacred, restorative space for healing and practicing radical self care. Swimming, hiking and exploring all that this beautiful island has to offer can be part of this long weekend for those who so choose, other women will simply want to stay on the farm and enjoy a much-needed sacred pause.

Between the Human Animal and the Animate Earth – Falling Awake with David Abram

May 29, 2015 - May 31, 2014

The innumerable losses cascading through the biosphere make vividly evident the need for a transformation in our human relation to the more-than-human land. Join renowned cultural ecologist and geo-philosopher David Abram for an in residential retreat, exploring our animal experience of the animate earth. Together, we’ll stir the forgotten rapport between our creaturely senses and the sensuous terrain — making forays into the wild ecology of perception, and the elemental magic of language and storytelling — pooling our discoveries toward the aim of cultural metamorphosis.

Soulcraft Intensive with Bill Plotkin

July 05, 2015 - July 09, 2015

The Soulcraft Intensive is a five-day experiential plunge into the wild depths of Soulcraft; a synergistic set of nature-based practices designed to evoke the life-shifting experience of soul encounter. To encounter the soul is to discover the mystical image you were born with, which reveals the path to your greatest personal fulfillment as well as the essence of your true service to society. Soulcraft practices spring from nature-based cultures, modern depth psychology, the poetic tradition, and wilderness rites of passage—to comprise a truly contemporary Western path to soul discovery and soul initiation.

The Soulcraft Intensive is highly experiential and intense. You will alternate between practices utilized in group, practices explored in solitude in nature, and sharing and deepening those experiences in small groups. What you discover through one practice is carried into and amplified by what you learn in the next. By the end of the intensive, you will understand yourself and your place in the world from a more soul-oriented perspective, be clearer about the gifts you were born to bring to the world, and have new skills to enrich your life and to defend the health of the more-than-human world.

Soulcraft practices include:

  • Soulcentric Dreamwork
  • Deep Imagery Work with Animal Guides
  • Talking Across the Species Boundaries
  • The Way of Council
  • Soul Tasks in Nature
  • Self-Designed Ceremony
  • Shadow Work
  • Soul Poetry
  • Sacred Wound Work
  • Synchronicities: Working with Nature’s Signs and Omens
  • Befriending the Dark
  • Ecstatic Trance Drumming and Dancing
  • many others!

Experienced Practitioner Vipassana Retreat with Heather Martin & Steve Armstrong

March 09, 2017 - March 19, 2017

This special retreat is offered for those with some experience in practicing meditation.  The minimum requirement is that you will have sat 4 week-long residential retreats in this tradition.  Your practice should be established, and relatively self-supporting.  The schedule is more flexible than on most retreats, allowing for self-direction over lengths of practice periods of sitting and walking.  There will be less basic instruction, while there will be the exploration of more nuanced and in-depth exploration of some aspects of these profoundly liberating teachings.  Due to the maturity of the practitioners, this retreat is usually very settled, intimate and a great opportunity for developing concentration (Samadhi) as well as insight (Vipassana). The particular theme of this retreat will be outlined at a later date.
